The STARSystem comprises the STARBoard, STARSupport and STARTable to form a complete, clinically engineered patient positioning system for right side radial access.
The STARSystem facilitates ease of radial access during Interventional Cardiology procedures, while enhancing the operational environment.
Designed to work with any cardiac or radiology procedure table, the STARSystem is a patient positioning system that is quick to install and adjust to variations in patient size. Set-up takes seconds with no consumable components required. The STARBoard allows for quick, effective presentation of the patient’s wrist for distal radial access and for proximal radial access when the hyper-extended position is preferred. Once access is achieved, a simple adjustment of the STARBoard allows you to rotate the patient’s wrist to a more relaxed, medially-rotated position during the rest of the procedure. The system facilitates both right and left arm access when working on the patient’s right side. Made with carbon fibre for superior strength, radiolucency and durability, the STARBoard is lightweight and compact.
The STARBoard will hold the patient's arm in the position you set with the adjustable friction bearings while remaining free to rotate and adjust.
The STARTable provides clinicians with an adjustable ergonomic work surface and extra protection from scatter radiation with 0.5mm Lead (Pb). Click here to check the scatter radiation report.

How much protection from scatter radiation does it offer?
The shield includes 0.5mm lead (Pb) for scatter protection.
Does it assist with left arm access too?
The system comes with the STARSupport which can be connected to the STARBoard for left arm access.
Is it easy to clean?
The system components can be easily wiped with disinfectant between cases. You can consider placing it within a clean bag that is disposed of following each procedure.
My arm pad was stained with blood post-procedure and we can’t remove it, what should we do?
Before placing the patient’s arm on the Arm Support Pad and Armrest, we recommend draping the Arm Support Pad prior to use to avoid blood contamination as the soft foam padding is subject to staining.
The arm pad can be reused after disinfection, provided there is no visible damage or tearing.
If you are still concerned with the presence of bloodstains, please feel free to contact us to purchase a replacement Arm Support Pad.
